Patience is one of those elusive traits for me..as soon as I'm on the verge of gaining some, circumstances arise that push me over the edge. I am impulsive, impatient, impossible. So often do I ask the Lord to give me grace and patience, and He responds with circumstances that make patience almost impossible. Why. Learning is not an instantaneous occurrence, learning takes time, trial and error and practice. I am given stupid annoying problems, annoying people, frustrating circumstances to teach me how to wait, breathe, trust and be still. I would like to say my patience has grown, but I have a feeling that this will by my lifelong struggle..the thorn in my side if you will. I am so weak in this area, but how neat is it that God has more than enough patience. He has patience with my impatience, does that make sense? I don't know, all I know is that I will never measure up nor have enough patience to measure up with the amount he has to have with me on a daily basis. I feel like a rebellious 8 year old. I am a wanderer, a rebel, a stubborn idiot, a fool. But He loves me just the same. What.

so lily and i have been looking forward to the melrose trading post for like two months. and the day had finally come. we started off the day being the first people at the post, getting a great parking spot and the first pick at the best stuff. i bought a kimono (pictured) and some rings and a neat map. then we went to TASTE which was TASTE-y, then drove down Rodeo and made our way over to Bottega Louie for some freaking expensive macaroons. We made it over to the Glendale Galleria and lived our California lives well. Thanks lil for a great day, and thanks LA for being greater than ever.

this weekend i felt super urban and stuff. between a trip to salvation and to the farmers market, i sure got my fix of pretty things. I've been really into odds and ends and what better place to find them than a graveyard for discarded lovelies. shoes are always a given, so whenever i find a remotely sweet pair of shoes i purchase it, hoping it will fit in some manner or another. the boots are snug, what else is new. i love plants of all kinds, these little succulents are just too much, i replanted them in clay pots also found at salvation. 5cents each. the old potpourri container might be my favorite, it still holds remnants of some old woman's favorite scent, patchouli, which i am not quite a fan of, but i am a fan of history and a story. glass bottles are a new thing of mine, i surely do love them and i hope to have a shelfful by the end of the month. also..that shirt you see there, its pretty neat. anyways, good weekend for me.

rainy days call for reflection of something sweeter than what is going on outside…so i choose to reflect on something i find as one of the loveliest things: dried flowers. i might even like them better than live one at times. the dead rose i found in my car surely did lovely up my day.
